“Cold & Windy” kayaking Skaha Lake – [Log11-16-2011]

The temp was just below freezing this November day (-3c) as the water on my gloves was beginning to freeze. The head wind was quite heavy at about 20kmh. with 50kmh gusts for the first part of the paddle. We ended up turning around and heading North with the wind back towards our put-in location, then, where the East edge was fairly calm, we paddled to the Marina and back to the put-in. It was just nice to get out for a paddle.

Kathy hasn’t done much cold weather kayaking so it was a great experience for her.
