Inflatable Kayaks

There are many different types of inflatable kayaks on the market today. To someone who doesn't have much experience with kayaks, they all seem as though they are equal. This couldn't be farther from the truth.

Kayaks come in many different shapes and sizes, and also have different features and functionality. When shopping for a good seaworthy inflatable kayak, you'll want to ensure that it's made with heavy duty PVC and is equipped with three separate air chambers. This will allow the inflatable kayak to stay afloat if an area of the boat becomes punctured.

Another important feature you want to look for is a pump. Many inflatable kayaks come with electric pumps, though these aren't desired. Reason being, it's hard to get the last few pounds of air needed using a pump such as this. However, if you have a manual pump, you can inflate your kayak in less than 5 minutes while filling it to capacity. Also try to ensure that the one you select has an air gauge on the side. This will ensure that you're filling it up to the right amount based on the weather conditions at the time.

You'll also want to ensure your kayak has a polyester jacket which covers the sides and the bottom, shielding it from puncturing. It also provides extra protection to the inner chambers of the kayak. Also try to ensure your kayak is one of the wider ones available, as it will offer more stability and make it almost impossible to tip.

Inflatable kayaks can be an excellent choice for those who want portability coupled with lower investment cost. They are easy to clean, easy to transport and of course, easy to use. If you look for a higher scaled model, you'll find all the feature you desire and enjoy your time on the water.
